This post is a little late. I was working a late night shift because the Nintendo Wii comes out on the 7th. Our store had a midnight launch, where at 12:01am we start selling the new Nintendos. I tell you it is really, really tempting when you see all those brand spanking new consoles not to want to buy one for yourself.
And to be honest, the Nintendo Wii, is pretty fun. It's hard to explain, but I found it really fun. You can explain it to people as much as you want, but really they need to play it for themselves in order to really appreciate it. That's how it was for me.
Lesson - Working in a place with things you buy for leisure is torture, working in a Video Game store is that for me.
However the job is easy, I get good discounts and it's five minutes from home. All in all I think it balances itself out pretty well. But I have to admit there are times when I regret buying all these games or DVDs or whatever. I think nowadays though I pretty much have that under control, I have to if I am going to be going to Sydney.
So yeah, the shift today was from 10pm to 1am. Short shift, but there was some complicated things to do like mathcing prices on our weird POS machines. I was pretty lazy, I dunno why.
Lately at work I just can't be stuffed and I think it's starting to show. It's hard though to try and get that motivation. Especially when people at work are a pain in the butt.
Not so much my co-workers, they're pretty good. It's the customers who really annoy me. I guess it's that time of year.
Lesson - When working shift work make sure you bring a snack.
I was so hungry I couldn't think straight. Maybe that added to my lack of motivation, can't work on an empty stomach as they say. After work I drove around but McDonalds was closed. I had barely any petrol in my car and I don't get paid until tomorrow, so it's pretty hard to drive to the 24 hour McDonalds in Noble Park. So I drove to 7Eleven and bought a Slurpee and some Doritos. Didn't quite hit the spot, but it was something at least. Tomorrow I am going to eat a lot, big time! I still have the munchies now, I might just rummage around the pantry and see if there's something to eat here.

Talking about being hungry...I had my big, fat juicy burger today. Mmm yum. Hehe.
i have to agree, but i work near food so its worse! i work at the candy bar alot at work (hoyts cinemas) and i am always tempted to pick my hand into the popcorn machine and just take out a few pieces when noone is watching. but the risk is too big...cause its so unprofessional. *rolls eyes*...hehe. anyways.
do you plan to get a wii eventually? i walked past them today at the shops and everyone was snatching them like hotcakes! i was soo jealous. im so poor right now...the thought of having one is unimaginable...haha. hopefully my brother will buy one. he usually does get new consoles as soon as they come out.
I think everyone who works @ gamestop and EBgames are cool. I try to be nice and friendly to them and see if I could get a discount, but it never worked <:(
Heh.... I applied to Gaemstop once for a second job, but they didn't use me. I guess I didn't look like a gamer. :( I'm envious of you to have a job related to what you love, but at the same time I can understand that customer can be annoying :x But then, do you feel good when you've recommanded a game to your customer, and they ended up loving it? I think that'd be awsome... heh...
and Yes! I'm the snacking type of person too! It doesn't matter if I'm @ work or @ home, I'd always like to have something to chew on. :p Once my co worker even commented on how I look like an ex cigarette addict because I tried to focus on eating so I don't think about smoking. hah~
